I’m Cool Gray but you may call me Lynn if you like. I’ve been creating in one form or another all my life. My mind is always percolating with something that needs to be expressed creatively and that can be in writing, painting, crochet, clay, digital art, or anything that feels like a great idea at the time. I love to encourage that in others as well. For my online presence, I’ve made my best attempt at organizing these expressions into three “studios,” so you can choose the media that most appeals to you…or hop around and visit them all!
There are three studios to enjoy here. In Studio A I’m podcasting about all the things in the world — and out of it — that fascinate me. The mission is to encourage deeper thought about a wide variety of topics through casual, intimate conversations with interesting guests. We keep things friendly around here, so pull up an overstuffed cushion, grab a cuppa, and listen in — or watch the video version on my YouTube channel.
In Studio B I’m creating art and letting you in on the process with YouTube videos. I crochet heirloom afghans, paint, and make various home decor items in papier mache and air dry clay. I experiment constantly in the art studio, so you never know what I’ll be highlighting! Watch me try things for the first time and learn along with me, or take a few tips on things I’ve already learned a thing or two about. Check the crochet and paintings galleries for examples of my work.
In Studio C I’m cooking up favorite family recipes or brand new ones I’ve just discovered. Sometimes I even invite guest cooks to join me. My favorite guest is Mr. Cool Gray! Look over my shoulder and hand me the salt!
In the blog, I talk about the activities in all three studios, and sometimes share my thoughts on a deeper level when there’s something on my mind that doesn’t neatly fit into a studio. Basically, stuff just bubbles out of my mind and I’ve gotta put it somewhere, so I’ve created these neat buckets to hold it all!
Cool Gray is the color of my hair, but it’s also this Boomer’s philosophy on growing older. I wholeheartedly welcome you to join me on my journey where I’ll look under rocks and poke stuff with sticks. 2022 brings a fresh look to the studios along with new opportunities to connect!
